What to Buy #1
Where can I find cool graphic tees that won’t be sold out?
It feels like every tee shirt I buy these days is something I saw someone cooler than me repost on their story and felt forced to buy. These are often made in small batches and if you’re even a day late you might be out of luck. Recently I purchased a tee from a brand I saw Chris Black (If you don’t know him you really should) post called Cowgirl Online. It’s simple, relatively cheap, and personally, I think it’s cool. There’s a couple great designs now but in the past they’ve sold out quickly so act fast.
If you feel compelled to let everyone know that you not only dress better than them, but are more interesting than them, then the A24 tee is what you need. Again, its very simple, very wearable, slightly pretentious but this is fashion and everything’s pretentious.
If you’re looking for something with a bit more going on I could show you an Online Ceramics shirt and it would be perfect, but if you’re here you know that already. For shirts like these, I really think that the smaller independent brands are killing it right now. Fraser Croll, Dime, 18 East are all making incredible stuff but if you aren’t there when it drops you’re not getting it. For these I’m not going to choose specific shirts, but instead a couple places where there will be a wide array of cool tees for you to choose from.
Dover Street Market T-Shirt Space
DSM always has the coolest if you know you know skate brands like Bianca Chandon, 917, and Paradise NYC. If you are able to go in person I highly recommend it, but if not the website has a large display of options where it would be tough to go wrong.
I just recently found this brand while popping into a sneaker boutique in my neighborhood. They do a lot of really cool graphics that I’m really drawn too. Also, having seen the shirts in person I was impressed with the quality and weight.
For some of the most well-curated vintage tees, Fantasy Explosion is the place to go. Since it is vintage,it is limited but they do drops every Friday so there are always new gems popping up. Also, their Instagram is a must follow.
What’s the best everyday pant?
Recently I picked up a pair of pants from Gramicci and I was really impressed. They come belted, which I love, and they are very roomy and work with everything. Go for the standard Gramicci Pant style or the NN- Pant for a slimmer look.
For something a bit more traditional and dressed up I’d suggest the Sid Mashburn 5 pocket pant. It’s truly one of my favorite designers ever, and these pants are a huge reason why. I have a pair in brown, and yellow corduroy and I love them. They are based off a Levi’s 501 but Sid did his part to make them even better.
On the opposite end of the spectrum if you need an everyday pair of pants for your extreme outdoor life or you just want to appropriate gorp culture then these Cronin Pants from Arc’teryx are what you need. The straight fit with the thick canvas is perfect for your Spring transition looks and the small Arc’teryx logo at the knee will let everyone know you are a certified cool guy.
What trends do you want to try this Spring/Summer?
Pearl Necklaces
I’m trying to go full Harry Styles this Spring and rock a pearl necklace. I have been looking the past couple of days for one I like and have a few I’m considering pulling the trigger on. If you don’t want to drop thousands on real pearls, there’s a lot of great options on Etsy and Depop. Also, you could just ask your grandma.
Ringer Tees
My shopping habits on eBay have been nothing short of compulsive as of late… For this reason, I have stocked up on many vintage tees I can’t wait to wear when the sun comes out. One of the tees I got was a ringer and I’m really feeling it. Its a classic look that anyone can pull off. The one below I just bought but I’ve included a few others that caught my eye.
Foamposites
Now hear me out… As we transition into warmer weather there’s going to be a lot of puddles, sludge, and muck everywhere. For some unknown reason, I want to be wearing foamposites when that time comes. It’s something I can’t explain or really even defend. They are ugly but in a way that could look kinda cool in a sort of “fashiony” way, right? I’ve been tempted to pull the trigger on a pair for a while now and hopefully I find the courage.
